Series wiring/pickup

Post by alex bonin »

I'm trying to wire my electric but have run into a problem. I'm using two Rail Blaster humbucker pickups and a single-coil from an old Fender. Wiring in series, each pickup will have an on/off switch and a phase switch.
The Rail Blasters didn't come with directions and I'm lost as to how to wire them.

Alex,

Welcome to MIMF!
If they came with the red and yellow leads soldered together as in your photo then they are already in series. The output would white lead + and black lead -.

And if they are out of phase in relation to the Fender pick-up, simply reverse the black and white leads.

If you haven't already drilled holes for the switches, you may consider 3 position on/off/on switches, combining the on/off and phase functions. This would makes things a bit less busy on the outside (and inside).
