Positive Grid BIAS - reviews? experiences?

Post by Jason Rodgers »

Holy smokes, if you can imagine it, "there's an app for that." The company Positive Grid has squeezed amp modeling down to fit in your pocket. Their BIAS app for iPad and iPhone claims to offer a virtual limitless number of circuit combinations to build your own custom amp. For $12.99 for the app, and $19.99 for a jack adapter, this seems too good to be true.

Does anyone have this app? What are your experiences? Does swapping out all these virtual parts really result in different (fairly realistic) amp styles and tones? How is the latency? Have you tried it in a live setting (e.g., iPhone straight into the board!)? I can handle $33 bucks (which makes it so damn appealing), but it's easy to throw money down the black hole of smartphone apps and end up with nothing in hand if you're not satisfied.
