Aw crap.
The Tony Rice OM was the guitar that got me into guitar building.
I'll forever be a fan of his song "Shadows."

Re: Ready for a new challenge
Hey Steve,
If you go with a guitar, have you ever looked at Clay's travel guitar platform?
It's mind bendingly cool, and well thought out.
If you send me your email, I'd be happy to send you a pdf of Robert Johnson's short scale L-0.
I got it from a friendly British luthier.

Oh, and I don't know if this is the wrong section of posting.
Should this be in the tools/jigs section instead?

Idiot proof approach to guitar building? For this idiot
Dear MIMF, Looking back at the years of postings I've done, I have to seriously cringe. Over the past few decades, I've grown to appreciate my limitations. I've created a system for my dentistry to be "idiot proof." For building acoustic guitars, do you have best practices for an idiot pro...

Do you ever just buy jigs? Feeling guilty, but swamped
Dear MIMF, I feel guilty saying this, but I'm thinking of buying some ukulele molds for a trio of tenors I promised 6 years ago. I'll get a spurt of energy, then get stuck on something. Recently, my office has me crazy bonkers...but I'd like to get the "guilt monster" off my chest by Chris...

Hey Simon,
Interesting you bring that up.
I have a set of speakers (almost done, just need to close the box), 3 ukuleles, and an acoustic bass guitar to finish.
Thanks for reminding me on them.
I should get started this week on cleaning it up.

Hey Bob,
That is beautiful!
FWIW, I'm up to me ears with dealing with this COVID stuff at my dental office. With the Gamma variant, we may have another shutdown...and my associate is getting his own office. He gave his 2 weeks notice on Sunday after church.

I've been working off a Blum Benchhorse for a few years now, and find it about perfect for me. It's just about waist height.

Planning a workbench, any tips?
Hey everyone, I finally got a used jointer! I'm planning on finally making a decent workbench. I'm planning to make a 72"x 18"x34" Roubo with hard rock maple. From an instrument maker's standpoint, is there anything that I should be aware of? Currently, I plan to just have a leg vise,...
