Heating Blanket Brands And Prices.
I see a lot of heating blankets under $100.00 but I doubt the quality of the less expensive brands.

Re: Warped Tops And Fingerboards.
I've used a little steam from the teapot and placed them with a moist sponge in a big plastic bag. They're back to normal. I monitored there progress through this process, making adjustments when needed. The fingerboard is cut such that it finds it's equilibrium slightly bowed by 1/16". N9 big ...

Re: Warped Tops And Fingerboards.
Time to buy a humidifier. I'm in the desert with an outside daytime temp of 100°F and 8° humidity. Inside, it's 85°F with 30° humidity and 40° inside the wood cabinet.

Re: Warped Tops And Fingerboards.
Thanks, Allen. They're in big zip-lock bags with damp sponges. I've sparingly twice applied steam from a boiling kettle to aid some of the more pronounced curl on the faces. They are nearly there. The fingerboards are now bowed only a millimeter and a millimeter and a half. I'll wipe the convex face...

Warped Tops And Fingerboards.
I went on vaction and didn't leave enough water in my wood cabinet. When I returned to 8% humidity in the shop. I had some bowed fingerboards and 2 fully braced tops that had gone concave. Should I put them back in sealed plastic bags and add a wet sponge? I cant seem to get the fingerboard blanks t...

Barirone Ukulele Questions.
I've been asked to build a Martin Style 51 baritone uke. For a 14 fret, one piece neck, 20" scale, Spanish heel, which length 3"×3" blank will I need? Will an 18" cover it? Also, will my LMII dovetail joint templates work for cutting the joint, should I decide to go with a slidin...

Jose Ramirez II used Wenge for the fingerboard and bridge on a 1949 Flamenco guitar. The guitar has a four piece Spruce top and Cypress back and sides. It's on my list to copy.

Re: Anyone ever make Gibson L-O flat-top?
They're fine guitars for what they are. I used those plans to make a sort of mini jumbo at 14 1/4" across the lower bout and a 24.75" scale length. I use the L-00 bracing. Famous people love it. I want to make another just like the plan ...and another with X bracing again ...probably anoth...

Re: Resawing With Hand Tools.
Thanks so much for your help. A traditional rip saw and a kerfing plane are recommended by those who use only hand tools for resawing. A bow saw is suggested but it is difficult for many to use. The suggestions you've all made will really help. I will start a kerf down the boards then cut them with ...
