David, You solved my problem. Must have had a brain fade to not think about skewing the PG on the blank. I reckon it will just fit on a standard StewMac blank at 11 1/4" wide. And the grizzly ones you identified are 1/2" wider so they will definitely do it.

Does anyone know where I can get large sheets of layered pick guard material. I need a piece of tortoise shell laminate 12.5" square for a Ovation Deacon pick guard.

Chris, Thanks for all of that information and your repair ideas. ;) Steve, There is no binding anywhere. I think what looks like binding is just the edge grain of the back. It appears that the end of the heel (heel cap) has been sawn off. I guess if it was an extension of the back the butcher cut it...

Thanks for the feedback. Owner also wants the top refinished maybe with a new pguard. Bridge is narrower than the more typical Martin style and it slopes bass to treble so will need to make a new one as he wants to keep it close to original. Will let you know how it goes. AA

Thanks for the replies. I did a bit of searching and I didn't come up with anything that suggests a 12 st electric needs special pups. I guess step 1 is get the bridge and then step 2 is see what the string spread is and how it lines up with pole spread.

Do 12 string electrics have different pick-ups to a 6 string electric. I'm thinking that the pole spacing may need to be a little wider. Appreciate any ideas.
