Re: Pin Routers

. In a way, every guitar I build is a "prototype". For that I am glad to have the flexibility of the CNC. However, if I was building a specific model and trying to sell 5+ a month I think a pin router and maybe a good copy-carver would have been a much better investment. I have a shop mad...

Re: Making me one of them SG guitars

Four hours on an inlay? That's all? Ha ha.... Yeah, the bits I oredered are small. Takes a long time to hog out the waste. Those tiny bits are great for defining the edge, but once you get the edge nice and defined, I would switch bits from the small one to a larger one to hog out the rest (It save...

Re: about conical (Compound Rad ) fretboards

I don't think it really addresses the issues of chocking out at all. And the 10-14 or 10-16 compounds seem in practice to work well. But I am having trouble visualizing what happens to the action as you get into more conical compounds. It seems like there must be some danger zone or area if you get...

Love the progress so far are using a modern truss rod? I would add a couple of carbon fiber rods to stiffen it up. if your doing the same neck dimensions as the original. Those neck are very comfortable but they are thin.

If you watch they use several methods to make the cardboard more structurally ridged. Including using ridged.

Re: What Kind of tone cardboard did they use?

Actually, corrugated cardboard laminated with the correct orientation of the corrugations is surprisingly strong. It may be but how does it hold the screws to hold the neck or the screws to hold the bridge. In the video the show lining up the the individual layers so I bet they use a clear epoxy. O...

... explaining the 60 day rule for payment and liquidation .... even if it was written down and signed, such a policy would be void here in Germany. I would be really surprised if things were grossly different in and other western country. In the US we have what is called a "Mechanic's Lien&qu...

I do not refute what we now believe is science fact, I just hold an open mind that maybe we don't know it all. And if we don't know it all then the math that the guy was using maybe improperly applied. I was a sound man and went to school in chicago At Columbia college (not the University) and we ha...

I have my own experience putting together parts casters over the years swapping out loaded pick guards with the same neck ( all my necks use threaded inserts and machine screws, so I can even torq them up the same, but I will be honest I never ...

Re: Mind helping me design Toddler Les Paul Junior?

For the pickup you could use a rail single coil, that way you do not have to line up the pole pieces. I have been thinking about this a while too. I also have a little one named Lily. She is my granddaughter. As for is it over kill? Well Lily has a uke (she love to play it) but she want 6 strings. S...

Now that your back can you post pictures of the frets being worn, and the position of the pickup to the bridge? Also Gordon asked questions 3 and 5 which you did not say what your findings were, in that respect. Do you hear any rattle if you hit the neck with the side of your fist? I remember anothe...
