Mountain Dulcimer Fret Calculator

This fret calculator written by Brian Ramsey will allow you to easily calculate the fret spacings for any mountain dulcimer that you might want to construct, or check the fret spacings for accuracy. The measurements are based on calculations taken from the book "Contructing the Mountain Dulcimer" by Dean Kimball (currently out of print), and are based upon a scale length of 25.75 inches.
